Uniforms to Mortarboards: Florida’s Colleges and Universities Serving Veterans November 6, 2009 Marshall Student Center University of South Florida, Tampa Florida |
|
Overview of the Conference
The
first of its kind in scope and breadth of topic, Uniforms to
Mortarboards: Colleges and Universities Serving Veterans is designed to help administrators and
faculty maximize the opportunity for success for veteran students. Colleges
and universities throughout the state of Florida are encouraged to bring
teams of colleagues to focus on a comprehensive approach to serving the
unique needs of veteran students. The morning sessions will focus on a
broad overview of the Post-9/11 GI Bill and general experiences of veterans
on campus.
The
afternoon will be “sleeves rolled up” facilitated sessions that involve
topics designed to be of interest to various professional groups within our
institution. These will be highly participative, working sessions where
colleagues will actively discuss challenges, best practices, and new ideas
around a more specific topic of relevance to the veteran student
experience. For more information on the afternoon sessions, please

here. You will be asked to select your top choice for the
afternoon session when registering for the conference.
